One of the following approval document :

a)  Foreigners Employment Permit of the People's Republic of China issued by Chinese government authorities for Human Resources and Social Security (original and photocopy) ；if your intended work period is 90 days or less, you need to provide an Approval of Short-Term Employment for Foreigners Working in P.R. China (original and photocopy);

b)  Permit for Foreign Experts Working in China (original and photocopy) or Notification Letter of Foreigner’s work Permit in the People’s Republic of China (photocopy) issued by the State Bureau of Foreign Experts;

c)  Letter of Invitation to Foreigners for Offshore Petroleum Operations in China issued by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (original and photocopy) ;

d) Registration certificate of the resident representative office of foreign (regional) enterprises issued by related administrative department of industry and commerce (original and photocopy)；

e)  An approval document for commercial performance(original and photocopy)issued by Chinese government authority for Cultural Affairs (only applicable to applicants for commercial performances in mainland China)；if your intended performance period is 90 days or less, you need to provide an Approval of Short-Term Employment for Foreigners Working in P.R. China (original and photocopy).

If you are applying a visa with a passport other than Canadian, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid permanent resident card, work permit, study permit, or other legal resident certificate.

For applicants who previously had Chinese nationality and have obtained foreign citizenship

If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, please provide the last Chinese passport held and 2 photocopies of its data page together with the data page of the present Canadian passport (the data page of the previous Chinese passport and the data page of the present Canadian passport need to be shown on the same paper); and the Canadian citizenship card (original and photocopy).

If you have obtained Chinese visas before and apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change). If you cannot provide the documents mentioned above, please prepare documents as you apply for the first time.
