Notice on the Implementation of the Online Pre-Review System for Visa Applications

The Chinese Visa Application Service Center Marseille is scheduled to be closed on 29/05 and  09/06/2025.  No submission or collection is available.

 

In order to further improve the efficiency of visa applications and optimize service procedures, our visa center will implement an online pre-review system in cooperation with the Consulate General of China in Marseille. 
 
Starting from March 31, all applicants (excluding those applying for visas to Hong Kong and Macao) must first complete the application form online and submit the required documents (For more details on the process, please refer to the announcement on the website).
 
Only after passing the online pre-review will they be able to visit the Marseille Visa Center to submit their documents. (Applicants for diplomatic, official, and other special visas must still complete the application form online, upload the required documents, and then submit them directly to the Consulate General of China in Marseille.)
 

(I) Prepare Visa Application Materials

Visa application materials include basic documents and other supporting documents.

 

(II) Complete the Online Visa Application Form and Upload Application Materials

Please visit the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Visa Application Center”) at www.visaforchina.cn, locate the Marseille Visa Application Center, register, and log in. Follow the instructions to complete the online visa application form, upload the required documents, and submit the application for preliminary review. All applicants (except those applying for visas for Hong Kong and Macau) must use this website to fill out the application form and upload application materials.

 

Special Reminder:

After submitting your application, the Chinese consulate or the Visa Application Center may request additional documents. Please check the “Application Progress Inquiry” section regularly to stay updated on your application status. When the application status changes to “Pending Passport Submission,” print the Visa Application Form and sign both the first and last pages.

 

(III) Submit Visa Application Materials and Pay Fees at the Visa Application Center (After the online review is approved, you can submit the documents at the Visa Application Center without an appointment)

         1.       Once the application status is “Pending Passport Submission” and you have received a confirmation email, you may bring the Visa Application Receipt (with a QR code) and submit your visa application materials at the Visa Application Center during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM).

         2.       The following materials must be submitted at the Visa Application Center:

     (1) Visa Application Receipt (with a QR code)

     (2) Original passport

     (3) Visa Application Form (all pages, signed on the first and last pages)

     (4) One recent photo (taken within the last six months, front-facing, no headwear, no accessories, no framed glasses, in color with a light-colored background, size: 48mm × 33mm)

     (5) If uploaded documents include a French residence permit, proof of kinship, or property ownership certificate, the originals must be presented.

      (6) If uploaded documents include application materials with barcodes, print and bring them.

     (7) The other supporting documents required by the consulate and the visa center.

         

 

         3.       Applicants are required to provide fingerprints at the Visa Application Center. The following applicants are exempt from fingerprint collection:

    Applicants under 14 years old or over 70 years old

    Holders of diplomatic passports or those eligible for diplomatic, official, or courtesy visas

   Applicants who have provided fingerprints at a Chinese consulate in Marseille within the past five years using the same passport

    Applicants with all ten fingers missing or whose fingerprints cannot be collected

      To futher facilitate Chinese visa applications, from September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025, all applicants for short-term Chinese visas (less than 180 days) for single and double entries will be exempt from fingerprint collection. 

 

Important Notice:

Applicants must personally appear to provide their fingerprints. If an applicant is found to have sent someone else to impersonate them for fingerprint collection, they will be denied entry to China and bear the consequences.

 

         4.       Payment: Applicants must pay all fees when submitting their application materials. The fees include the visa fee and service fee. (Cash payments are not accepted at the Marseille Visa Application Center.)

 

(IV) Collecting the Visa

Applicants can collect their documents by presenting the pickup receipt received during submission. Visa collection is available on business days from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Visa Application Center.
