Is it permitted for someone else to submit my application to the Visa Centre on my behalf?

Generally speaking, you should submit your application in person and collect your passport with an issued visa. If circumstances really prevent you from doing so (e.g. illness), you may entrust someone else to do it for you (no need to provide a power of attorney) providing that you have prepared all the documents required and signed the application form.

In accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations, the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Bern and Zurich will collect 10 fingerprints of all visa applicants on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Switzerland and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Zurich starting from January 12, 2021.

Please be noted that applicants shall provide their fingerprints in person at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. Applicants who forge fingerprints will be denied entry to China and shall bear all consequences themselves.
