Important Information for Visa Application:

1. Visa Application Details:

·         The Calgary Visa Application Service Center only accepts visa applications from residents within its jurisdiction (Alberta, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories).

 

·         For expedited service (humanitarian reasons), you must provide the Chinese ID or passport of the deceased or critically ill person in China, the death certificate/critical illness notice, and proof of kinship. For expedited service, arrive at the visa center at 9 AM ON TIME.

 

·         Visas issued before March 28, 2020, can be reinstated for entry into China.

 

·         Each applicant must prepare their own set of application materials; materials cannot be shared.

Please prepare the document as 
required format as following. T和 core materials (highlighted in red) are incomplete, which may result in the inability to process the application.

2. Application Process:

a.    Fill Out the Application Form Online:

o   Visit the China Visa Application Service Center's online form website to fill out the visa application form. Print the confirmation page and the full form, and sign both the confirmation page and Section 9 on the form.

b.    Submit Your Application in Person:

o   Submit your application in person at the Calgary China Visa Application Service Center and record fingerprint.

 

o   Fingerprint collection exemptions and the possibility of entrusting someone else to submit the visa application are available for: (For visa applicants who cannot come in person and handled by Guardian, agency, friend and etc., it is required to provide the exit stamp from the applicant's most recent departure from China )

§  Persons under 14 years old or over 70 years old.

§  Persons who have applied for a visa and provided fingerprints at the Calgary center using the same passport within the last five years.

§  Persons unable to provide fingerprints from all ten fingers.

§   Single or double entery Short term visa under specific conditions  (with a stay of less than 180 days) for visa applicants (before December 31, 2025)


c.    Return Mail Service:

 

o   If choosing the return mail service, prepare a Canada Post Xpresspost return envelope.

 

d.    Payment Method:

o   Debit card only. Cash and credit cards are not accepted.

 

e.    Processing Time:

o   Regular processing takes four (4) business days.

o    Express processing takes three (3) business days (express service is only available for pick-up, not by mail).

f    Document Collection:

o   Please bring the original pickup form to collect your passport (copies are not accepted).

Level talents or whose skills are urgently needed in China.

The applicant should submit relevant certification in accordance

with relevant regulations, and meet the relevant requirements of

the competent authorities of the Chinese government on high-

level talents and individually with special skills urgently needed by China,

Issued to those who intend to 

go to China to visit the 

foreigners working or studying 

in China to whom they are 

spouses, parents, sons or 

daughters under the age of 18 or parents-in-law, or to those 

who intend to go to China for 

other private affairs. The 

intended duration of stay in 

China exceeds 90 days.

(1) An invitation letter A* from the inviting individual (a foreigner who stays or resides in China for work or studies)

(2) A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport and residence permit

(3) Original and a photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate, certification of kinship issued by Public Security

Bureau or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of immediate family members between applicants and inviting individual.

"Immediate family members” refers to spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18, parents-in-law.

Issued to those who intend to 

visit their family members who are foreigners working or 

studying in China, or to those who intend to go to China for 

other private matters. The 

intended duration of stay in 

China is no more than 90 

days.

"Family members" refers to 

spouses, parents, sons, 

daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, 

grandparents, grandsons, 

Granddaughters and parents-in-law.

For visiting family members for a short period, the following 

documents are required:

(1) An invitation letter A* issued by the inviting individual (a foreigner who resides in China for work or studies)

(2) A photocopy of the inviting individual's (a foreigner who lives in China for work or studies) passport and residence permit

(3) Photocopy of relationship certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between the applicant and the
