 1. Basic Documents

(1)   Passport

Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and with at least two blank visa pages, a photocopy of the passport's data page.

(2)   Visa Application Form and Photo

Please complete the Visa Application Form in “Application Form” model and upload your digital photo(click to check the rules for photos), then print the Visa Application Form and sign by following the tips. Beside that,you also need to submit a physical photo (or photopaper),the photo requirements are same as the digital one.

(3) Proof of legal stay or residence status (applicable for non-local applicants)

If you are not applying for the visa in your own country, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates or visa of stay, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of the country where you are currently staying.

(4) Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas (applicable for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship)

If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide the former Chinese passport and a photocopy of its data page.

If you have obtained Chinese visas before and apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should present the original of the previous passport, the photocopy of the previous passport’s data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the  photocopy of the last previous Chinese visa page. If you can't provide the previous passport, please provide a written statement or your company's guarantee letter for the Consulate-General's further review. If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change).

(5) For applicant under 18 years old must provide: 1. The original and photocopy of the unabridged birth certificate with names of the applicant's parents (If there's only the applicant's mother's name on the birth certificate, the marriage certificate or certification of kinship notarized certification of kinship is a must). 2. Photocopy of the parents’ passports or ID cards. 3. Notarized Parental Letter of Consent or the Affidavit from non-accompanying parent(s) authorizing the travel. This letter or affidavit should cover the dates of the travel and the parents contact information. 

2. Supporting documents

(1)  Letter of Duly Authorized Unit or Confirmation Letter of Invitation issued by relevant Chinese entities. The invitation should contain:

  a) Applicant information(incl. full name, gender, date of birth, passport number and etc.);

  b) Information regarding the planned visit (incl. purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviting entity or individual, and financial source for expenditures during the stay in China);

  c) Information on the inviting entity or individual (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, stamp, and signature of the legal representative or individual).

(2)  Original certification of employment.

(3) Itinerary in China.

3. Special notes

(1) If it is the first time that you apply for a Chinese visa since 1st Dec 2017, you should submit both the visa application and fingerprint at the centre in person, at the same time. If you have submitted the visa application as well as fingerprint in person since 1st Dec 2017, you may submit the visa application either in person or by a local legal travel agency in Sweden for the next 5 years.

(2) Chinese Swedish and citizens of third countries are required to submit the applications in person to the visa centre.

(3) According to the regulations of the Consulate-General, all invitation letters should be original.

(4) If necessary, the consular officer may require the applicant to provide other proof supplementary documents, or require an interview with the applicant.

(5) The consular officer will decide whether visa is issued or not over its validity, duration of stay and number of entries in light of specific conditions of the applicant.
