In recent years, biometric visas have rapidly gained popularity globally, and more and more countries have successively developed and implemented biometric visas. With reference to international practices and proven experience, according to the notification from the Chinese Embassy and Consulate in Sweden, starting from November 24, 2017, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Stockholm and Gothenburg (hereinafter referred to as “Visa Application Center”) will collect fingerprints from all Chinese visa applicants in the consular districts on behalf of the Chinese Embassy and Consulate.
Applicants age 14 to 70 must come to the Visa Application Center in person to submit their applications and provide fingerprints. The collected fingerprints data will be directly submitted by the Visa Application Center to the Chinese Embassy and Consulate.
An applicant applying for a Chinese visa again within the next 5 years will not need to have their fingerprints collected again.*(It must be collected by the same Application Center with the same passport )
(Please note that applicants who need to go to the Visa Application Center in person to submit their application and provide fingerprints will no longer be eligible for the two-way mail service and cannot submit their application by mail to the Visa Application Center).
Meanwhile, the way of charging fees will be changed to payment at application. This means that applicants need to pay visa and service fee on site right after they have submitted their applications. Then the visa application will be able to enter into the subsequent visa assessment procedures.
To provide more quality services to applicants and facilitate the submission of visa applications, starting from November 24,2017, the Stockholm and Gothenburg Visa Application Center will launch the new version of the website where online appointment and online form filling services will be added.
All applicants who submit their visa applications to the Visa Application Center must complete the visa application form online and book appointment through the "Online Form Filling" and "Online Appointment" module at the new website in advance. After completing the online application form, the applicant should print out the visa application form from the website, sign it and bring it together with other related visa application materials to the Visa Application Center at the scheduled appointment time to submit their application.
Starting from December 1st, 2017, Stockholm Visa Center will officially launch application services by pre-booked appointment and online filled application forms.
The Stockholm Visa Center will be closed on Thursday Nov 30th from 13-16pm to ensure smooth implementation of the new system.
We are grateful for your understanding and cooperation.
