Important notice about application form and personal information
Stockholm Visa center urge applicants that they must pay special attention to how they fill in their
name and other basic information in the online visa application form.
Since no mistakes are allowed in Section 1 of the form, your application process will be greatly
affected if there are. Applicants will be directly denied submitting their applications at the Visa
Application Center if trying to apply with an application form containing any mistakes in Section 1.
For Swedish and most other applicants, this will mean three important things:
1. the Swedish letter Å, Ä, Ö can not be used in Section 1 of the application form. instead, always
write Å as AA, Ä as AE and Ö as OE
Ex. If your name is Kåre Björknäs, your name must be spelled KAARE BJOERKNAES
Ex. check your passport like the picture:
2. since Swedish and many other european passports do not have middle name - "mellannamn" listed in their
passports, applicants (with those types of passports) must never write anything under point "1.1B Middle name"
in the online application form.
Instructions
Your surname or surnames - efternamn - should always be listed in the order as written in your
passport under "1.1A Family name"
Leave "1.1B middle name" empty (you should not write any mellannamn at all)
Write all your given names - förnamn - under "1.1C Given name"
under "1.1E Name written in native language" you can write your normal name
3. Passport number, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality and Passport issuing country or region must
always be written correctly. (Issuing country or region means the country that issued your passport.)
If you discover that you have made any mistakes under section 1 of the visa application form,
the applicants must first
1. Revise their application form. This can be done by clicking on Quick Access - New Application
Form and choose "Start a new form with personal information based on previously completed applications".
2. Book a new appointment time for application with their updated application form instead.
