Information for China Hong Kong visa and Macao visa applications


 

China Hong Kong Visa Application

 

1. Korean-nationals visiting China Hong Kong for up to 90 days as a tourist are exempt from having to apply for a visa. However, if the duration of stay while in Hong Kong is more than 90 days or the purpose of the visit is to work, study or visit under a working holiday scheme, a visa is required.

 

2. Visitors other than Korean-nationals visiting China Hong Kong are asked to visit the website to check if a visa is required. The website belongs to the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Unless you are exempt from holding a visa or your intended duration is more than permitted duration, you need a visa. Foreign nationals who are legally in Korea can apply for a Hong Kong visa to the Chinese Consulate General in Korea through the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre. You can also submit such applications directly to the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

 

3. Applications can be submitted in person or by an agent. Appointment is not required. The requirement documents are as follows:

        a. Original passport with a minimum validity of 6 months and at least one unused page, and a copy of the passport’s data and photo page.

        b. A completed China Hong Kong Visa Application Form (Download) and one passport photo.

        c. An Alien Registration Card issued in Korea OR original Korean visa and a photocopy.

        d. If an agent is applying on your behalf, an Entry Confirmation or a Certificate of Entry & Exit showing the last entry information into Korea is required.

        e. Other necessary documents specific to the intended purpose of the visit (Please visit the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region website for the details on the required documents)

        a.
The fees listed above are only applicable to visa application that can be processed by the Consulate. (Working Holiday Visa Applications by Korean-nationals are exempt for visa application fees). If the application needs to be forwarded to the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region may take longer.
        b.
Regardless of the outcome of the visa application, the applicants are still required to pay the forwarding fee of 20,000 Won. This can be paid to the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre.
        c.
If the applicant applies for a Chinese Visa, China Hong Kong Visa and China Macao visa at the same time or at least two types of the visas listed above at the same time, the applicant is only required to pay the applicable visa applications fee and the services fees once.


China Macao Visa Application

 
1.
Korean-nationals visiting China Macao for up to 90 days are exempt from holding a visa.

2.
Visitors from Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam are required to apply for a China Macao visa through the Chinese Consulate General before visiting Macao Special Administrative Region. (Visitors with a Diplomatic Passport are exempt from holding a visa to visit China Macao). Applicants from the foregoing six countries that are legally in Korea can apply for a China Macao visa to the Chinese Consulate General in Korea through the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre. Applications can be submitted in person or by an agent. Appointment is not required. The required documents are as follows:
        a. Original passport with a minimum validity of 6 months and at least one unused page, and a copy of the passport’s data and photo page.
        b.
A completed China Macao Visa Application Form (Download) and one passport photo.
        c.
An Alien Registration Card issued in Korea OR original Korean visa and a photocopy 
       
 e. Other necessary documents specific to the intended purpose of the visit. (Please visit the Macao Public Security Police Force Website for the details on the required documents)
3. Foreign-nationals other than those from the countries listed in clause 2 above who are NOT exempt from having to apply for a visa may apply for a China Macao visa upon arrival or through the local Chinese Consulate General in their country.

4. Visa duration and application fees (to be paid upon collection) are as follows:
        a. Visa applications that need to be forwarded to Macao Public Security Police Force, the processing time is not specified but may take at least 10 working days.
        b.
Visa application fee of 35,000 Won per person, Forwarding Fee of 20,000 Won per person and Centre Service Fee of 20,000 Won per person. Regardless of the outcome of the visa application, the applicants are still required to pay the forwarding fee.
        c.
If the applicant applies for a Chinese Visa, China Hong Kong Visa and China Macao visa at the same time or at least two types of the visas listed above at the same time, the applicant is only required to pay the applicable visa applications fee and the services fees once.
