Do I have to apply for a visa through a travel agency?
No. You can apply via a travel agency or come directly to the Visa Centre in person.
According to the requirements of the Chinese Embassy, from the 22nd October 2018, all applicants aged between 14 and 70 must register their fingerprints in person at the Visa Centre. A photo will be taken by the Visa Centre staff at the same time. If you want to apply via a travel agency, the travel agency will be responsible to confirm with you about the submission and the fingerprint collection.
Applicants’ fingerprints will be stored for 5 years. Applicants who have completed fingerprints collection and applied for Chinese visas within 5 years with the same passport will not have to get their fingerprints collected again. Applicants shall bear all the legal consequences including denial of entry for forged fingerprints or using other people’s fingerprints for visa application.
