Visa Application Process
(I) Prepare visa application materials
    Visa application materials include basic materials and other supporting materials.
(II) Fill in the online visa application form and upload application materials
    Please log in to the website of the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Visa Application Center") www.visaforchina.cn, find the corresponding visa application center, register and log in. Fill in the online visa application form, upload the application materials and submit according to the prompts, and wait for the preliminary review. All applicants (excluding visa applicants for Hong Kong and Macao) must use this website to fill in the application form online and upload the application materials.
    After submitting the application, the embassy or consulate or visa application center may feedback at any time that you need to provide further materials. Please go to "Application Progress Inquiry" to keep abreast of the application progress. When the application status is "Waiting for Passport Submission", print the first and last pages of the visa application form and sign them. Some applicants will need to be interviewed via video. Make an appointment according to the website prompts and complete the video meeting.
(III) Submit visa application materials and pay fees
    1. If the application status changes to "Waiting for passport submission" and a confirmation email has been received, the applicant can bring the printed "Visa Application receipt" to the visa application center between 9:00 and 15:00 on working days to submit the visa application materials.
    2. Submit the following materials to the visa application center:
        (1) Original passport;
        (2) The first and last page of the "Visa Application Form" with signatures;
        (3) One photo (within 6 months, bareheaded, colorred, 2-inch small: 48mm×33mm);
        (4) Other supporting materials required.
    3. Applicants are required to collect fingerprints of all ten fingers at the visa application center. The following visa applicants are exempt from fingerprint collection:
        (1) People under 14 years old or over 70 years old;
        (2) People holding diplomatic passports or meeting the requirements for the issuance of diplomatic, official or courtesy visas;
        (3) People who have applied for visas and left fingerprints at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Italy with the same passport within five years;
        (4) People whose ten fingers are mutilated or whose fingerprints cannot be left;
        (5) Before December 31st, 2024 (inclusive), the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in Italy will exempt eligible applicants for single or double entry business, tourism, visiting relatives, transit and crew visas from fingerprint collection.
        Applicants must go to the visa application center in person to leave fingerprints. If it is found that someone else impersonates the applicant to leave fingerprints, the applicant will be denied entry into China and will bear the corresponding consequences.
    4. All fees must be paid when submitting application materials, including visa fees and visa service fees.
(IV) Pick up the documents
    Applicants can collect their documents at the visa application center at the corresponding collection time with the collection date issued when submitting the application.

Special reminder: 

    Persons holding diplomatic and official passports and important official delegations visiting China must also fill out the application form and upload the application materials online through the visa center website. When the application status changes to "Waiting for passport submission" and a confirmation email has been received, the applicant can bring the printed "Visa Application receipt " to the Chinese Embassy in Italy to submit the visa application materials.
