Starting from 15 September, 2025, the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Melbourne will launch the China online visa processing system in coordination with the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Melbourne (For more details, please click here). All applicants holding ordinary passports (excluding applicants for visa to Hong Kong S.A.R of China and Macau S.A.R of China) must first complete an online application form and submit relevant application materials online. Upon the online review process completion(Note: review process completion does not guarantee visa approval), applicants may then proceed to the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Melbourne to submit physical application materials (weekdays, 10:00-14:00, Melbourne Time). *Following the transition to the China Online Visa Processing System, the center will serve: Australian citizens holding ordinary passports who reside in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia; and third-country nationals holding valid Australian visas who reside in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, and Western Australia.
