Notice on Online Chinese Visa Application with E-application Forms and Pre-booked Appointments
Starting from 10 May 2021, Kathmandu Chinese Visa Application Service Center will use online system for submitting application forms and booking appointments. The specific arrangements are as follows:
1. From 10 May 2021, applicants(except for applicants applying for Hong Kong SAR visa and Macao SAR visa) are required to fill out electronic application forms at https://www.visaforchina.org. and make the appointment either directly enter the visa appointment page through the appointment link. Applicants can also fill out their online electronic application forms and make appointments for visa through China Embassy's website https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn or https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn.
After completing the online application forms and appointments, applicants are required to print out the application forms and the confirmation page, sign on the above-mentioned documents, and then submit their passports with other application documents to China Visa Application Service Center in Kathmandu.
2. From 10 May 2021 to 10 June 2021, applicants can still use the existing physical paper application forms. Starting from 10 June 2021, all applicants will have to submit their application forms through the online application system.
3. Applicants who hold a diplomatic, official passport or who are members of an important official delegation, are not required to make appointment on line. The above-mentioned applicants will only need to complete the online application forms at https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn or https://www.visaforchina.org, and print out the confirmation page and application form. After signing on the above-mentioned forms, they could proceed to submit their passports and other application documents directly to the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.
4. Visa application process for Hong Kong SAR visa and Macao SAR visa will remain same as before. Online application forms filling and appointment making are not required. During the COVID-19 period, applicants are advised to visit the official websites of the Government of Hong Kong SAR Immigration Department(https://www.immd.gov.hk) and the Government of Macao SAR Public Security Police Force(https://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/cht/main.html) to check the latest visa application policy.

To improve the efficiency of applying for the Chinese visa and help to the personnel exchanges, According to the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Chinese visa application service center will cancel visa appointment from Dec 17th,2023. Applicants can submit their visa applications directly to our center with the online-filled application form and supporting documents during work hour(Monday to Friday 9:00-15:00). Considering the possibility of a large numbers of applicants during certain time periods, it's recommended to arrange the time and avoid peak hour(normally on Monday and Tuesday from 10 to 12 a.m).
