You may apply for an extension of the “duration of stay” of your visa 7 days before your duration expires at the immigration department of a local public security authority by providing required documents. You may get the approval based on the reasonable purpose and sufficient documents. But without the approval you have to leave according to your original visa. Overstay violates the laws of China and will be punished.
