1. According to relevant Chinese laws and regulations and with reference to international practice, with effective from 1st September, 2021, the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Hong Kong (hereinafter referred to as ’the Centre’) will collect applicants’ fingerprints on behalf of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of People’s Republic of China in the HKSAR (hereinafter referred to as ’the Commissioner’s Office’) (excluding Macao visa applicants). Applicants aged between 14 and 70 (both age inclusive), applying for visa for Chinese Mainland are required to submit the application with all their fingerprints collected in person at the Center. Please be noted that all applicants are requested to go to the CVASC in person for fingerprints collection. Applicants who forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints should be denied to enter into China and bear all the consequences incurred. Applicants for diplomatic, official or courtesy visas will still have to submit their applications at the visa section of the Commissioner's Office, and the decision on whether to collect fingerprints will be subject to bilateral reciprocal arrangements. Applicants with all fingers mutilated or fingerprints uncollectible can be exempted from collection. The collected fingerprints data will be submitted directly to the Commissioner’s Office, please ensure that you have read and agreed to the Privacy Policy Statement on our website and Personal Information Collection Statement in our reception hall before submitting your application. Those applicants applying for a Chinese visa at the Centre within the next 5 years by holding the same passport will not be required to have their fingerprints collected again.
2. According to the “Notice on the Launching of the New-Version Online Application Form and Appointment System for Chinese Visa” issued by the Commissioner’s Office, the Center has launched the online visa application form and appointment system for Chinese visa since 10th June, 2021. Applicants can reach it under ‘How To Get A Visa- Step by Step Guidance-Start Here’ or visit https://cova.mfa.gov.cn to fill in a new-version online visa application form. (For details, please refer to “Instructions for online visa application form”). After filling in the application form, please print out the completed form. Meanwhile, enter the ‘Quick Access’ section from the homepage, select ‘Appointment ’or visit http://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn to make an appointment. After that, please sign and submit the printed visa application form and confirmation page, together with other supporting documents to our Center during the appointed slot. The Visa Service Center will no longer accept non-appointment applications and old-version application forms.
3. At present, the Center is open from 09:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday (public holidays excluded). For applicants with emergency humanitarian reasons who failed to
make online appointments, please contact the Center in advance (Tel:
+852-29921999; Email: hongkongcenter@visaforchina.org). If confirmed, those
applicants can approach the Center directly and submit the application. For
those who have not met this requirement, please do not attempt applying.
