Notice on the Updating of Requirements for Chinese Visa Application During the COVID-19 Pandemic

According to the notice of Chinese Embassy, Chinese visa application service center in Hanoi
will accept following visa applications (referred to as "the Visa Center" hereinafter) starting from
1st July: 

I. Visa application for resumption of operation and production, and related matters:

1. Applicants visiting China for work and production activities (including long-term work and
short-term visits with purpose of trade, education, science and technology, sports, culture, etc.)
can apply for Z/M/F visa by submitting the routine documents 
(See link: http://vn.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/lsyw/201508/t20150807_1675292.htm, similarly
hereinafter).

2. Family members (including spouses, parents, children under the age of 18, parents of
spouses, adult child, spouse of adult child, and unmarried partner) of those foreign nationals
resuming operation and production in China can apply for S1 or S2 visas with the routine 
documents. The Invitation Letters (PU or TE) issued by relevant local authorities are no longer 
required.  Adult child, spouse of adult child, and unmarried partner applying for family member
visit (S2) visa shall submit explanation documents accordingly as required by consular officials 
in addition to the documents mentioned above.

II. Visa application out of humanitarian needs

The scope of applicants eligible for applying for a visa out of humanitarian needs will be
expanded as appropriate. In addition to visiting an immediate family member in China who is in
critical medical condition and in need of care, or arrange funeral matters of an immediate family
member in China, foreign family members (including spouses, parents, spouse's parents,
children and their spouses, brothers and sisters, grandparents, and grandchildren) of Chinese
citizens or foreign nationals with Chinese permanent residence permit can apply for Q1 or Q2
visas for reunion or family visit. 
      III.Visa application for studying abroad

1. International students visiting China for long-term academic education (short-term
non-academic education projects are not included at present) can apply for X1 visa.
Families of international students studying in China can apply for stay or visit.

2. International students applying for X1 visa shall submit "Visa Application Form
for Study in China" (JW201/202 form), Admission Letter or Certificate of Returning to
school (Admission Letter for freshmen and Certificates of returning to school for returning 
students)


IV. Reminder

1.  Before entering China, foreign nationals should be fully-vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines
approved for emergency use or licensed for use by China or WHO. In addition to the routine
documents, the full-process vaccination certificates of the applicants should also be submitted
while applying.

2. Applicants are required to fill in an online visa application form and make an appointment
through the official website of the Visa Center and submit application documents on site as
is appointed. (Chinese Visa Application Service Center (visaforchina.org)) Applications
without an online visa application form or a valid appointment will NOT be accepted.

3. The processing time is usually 4 working days. The time for supplementing materials,
verifying the applicant’s individual circumstances, force majeure and other reasons will not
be included among the above-mentioned time limit. Applicants can apply for Express
Service and Green Channel Service once needed.

4. The Visa Center will charge standard visa fees (including Express Service fees) and service
fees. Please refer to the website of Visa Center for detailed information:

5. Please apply through the Visa Center and its registered agencies instead of illegal
agencies who involve in price gouging by exaggerating the difficulty for visa
applications. If you encounter the above-mentioned illegal agencies, please call the police
and also kindly inform the Visa Center or the Embassy.
