Notice on Visa Facilitation for Foreign Nationals with Valid Chinese Residence Permits

In view of the rapid spread of COVID-19 across the world, the Chinese Government
announced to temporarily suspend the entry into China by foreign nationals holding valid
visas or residence permits from 28 March 2020. At the same time, foreign nationals for
necessary economic, trade, scientific or technological activities or emergency humanitarian
needs can apply for visas at Chinese embassies or consulates.

As the prevention and control of COVID -19 has become a new normalcy, to further
facilitate personnel exchanges, the Chinese side has decided that, from 0 A.M, August 22,
2020, foreign nationals from Vietnam with valid residence permits for employee, family
reunion or personal affairs, can apply for visas free of charge with the completion of both
visa application form and the health declaration form. Eligible applicants are required to
complete the COVID-19 nucleic acid test within 3 days prior to their departure date of the
flight to China with a test result showing negative, also required to comply with the
epidemic prevention and control regulations of the local governments after entering China.

Additionally, The Chinese Visa Application Service Center will continue to process the
following 4 types of visa applications:

 1. Emergency humanitarianism. Foreign nationals coming to China for funerals or for
visiting critically ill relatives including spouses, parents, grandparents and grandchildren.

2. The spouses and children ( under 18 years old ) of Chinese nationalities or Chinese
permanent.

3. Applicants going to China for taking care of their parents with Chinese nationalities, their
spouses or children ( under 18 years old ) . 

4. Applicants involved in commercial or technological activities. Holders of invitation letters
issued by the Foreign Affairs Office of China's provincial local governments or the Department of
Commerce or other units, and their spouses and children (under 18 years old).
