STEP 1: Preparing Documents as Required
The documents include basic documents and supporting documents.
STEP 2: Complete Online Visa Application Form
Please login to www.visaforchina.cn and make the application online. All applicants are required to complete the online application form (excluding those applying for visas to Hong Kong SAR of China and Macao SAR of China), and wait for preliminary check.
Please note:
1. Check the assessing result of your application: Applicant can find the assessing result in “Track My Application” once submitting the application. If the status showing “Passport to be submitted”, please print the confirmation page and the last page of the application form and “Visa Application Certificate”. Please sign the both pages of the application form. ( If the applicant is younger than 18 years, the consent of the legal guardian (e.g. father, mother) must be present. If one parent has sole custody, this must be confirmed when submitting the application ).
2. Online Video Interview (if necessary)
Video interview is needed for some kinds of visa. Please make an appointment according to the website prompts and complete the video interview.
STEP 3: Submit visa application documents and pay visa fees at the visa application center
1. If the status showing “Passport to be submitted”, then applicants can submit documents at the visa application center on working day 9:00am-14:00pm. Please check the Processing Time.
2. When submitting documents at the visa application center, please bring the following documents:
(1) Original passport.
(2) The confirmation page and the last page of application form with signature, and the “Visa Application Certificate”;
(3) ID Photo. A recent and color ID photo, facing forward and with white color background, and bareheaded, in 48mm x 33mm size.
(4) Original or photocopy of supporting documents (only if specifically requested, please check the China Online Visa Application website).
3. All applicants holding ordinary passports will be requested to have their fingerprints collected. The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection (those who are exempt from fingerprint collection can entrust others to submit visa applications):
(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;
(2) Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;
(3) Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Frankfurt with the same passport;
(4) Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected;
(5) Applicants who apply for single and double entry business (M), tourism (L), short-term family visit to Chinese citizens (Q2), transit (G), and crew (C) visas up to December 31, 2024.
The Chinese Embassy kindly request that applicants shall have their fingerprints collected in person. Those forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear all the consequences incurred.
4. Applicants shall pay the visa fee and service fee with cash or EC card. Click here to check your estimated visa fee and service fee.
STEP 4: Collection
Applicants will be given a pickup form when submitting documents at the visa application center. You can bring the pickup form for passport collection on working day 9:00am-15:00pm, or choose the return mail service to collect your passport. Please check the Processing Time.
