In accordance with the health requirements of the competent Chinese authorities, from November 6, 2020 in the DRC and from the day announced by the Chinese Embassy concerned to the transit country of the last step to China, passengers destined for China to obtain from the relevant Chinese Embassies a green QR code with an HS health sticker for Chinese passengers or a valid health status declaration for passengers outside Chinese nationality showing negative results of PCR tests and COVID-19 IgM carried out respectively in the DRC and in the transit country of the last stopover to China before each embarkation in order to properly prevent and control the cross-border transmission of COVID-19 and to effectively protect the safety of life and health public.
I. Testing requirement
★ The 1st PCR and IgM tests for COVID-19 must be carried out in the DRC at most 48 hours before boarding in the test establishments designated by the Chinese Embassy in the DRC: INRB (Kinshasa) / CMK Hospital (Kinshasa) / DIAMANT Hospital (Kinshasa and Lubumbashi) / Congo Chinese Hospital RUI CHEN (Lubumbashi and Kolwezi) / TAI WA Likasi Medical Center DRC.
★ The 2nd PCR and IgM tests for COVID-19 must be carried out in the transit country of the last stopover to China no more than 48 hours before boarding at the testing establishments designated by the Chinese Embassy in this country ( consult the official website of this one).
II. Procedure required to request a valid health status declaration
Passengers outside of Chinese nationality, after obtaining negative results of PCR and IgM tests, are requested to send immediately by mail to the Chinese Embassy in DRC (email address: consulate_cod@mfa.gov.cn) the following documents:
1. The biographical information page of their valid passport;
2. The valid visa or residence permit page;
3. Their medical attestation to the negative result of the virological tests (RT-PCR) and IgM for COVID-19;
4. The signed and dated health declaration (form found at the China VFS Visa Center).
After validating the state of health declaration, the Chinese Embassy in the DRC will send the scanned version back to passengers outside Chinese nationality by e-mail. Passengers should print it out, bring it with them to the airport, ensure its validity and cooperate with airlines for verification before boarding from DRC. When passengers arrive in the transit country, their last stopover to China, they still have to do the PCR and IgM tests at the testing facilities designated by the Chinese Embassy in that country, and once again request the health status declaration validated by the Chinese Embassy in the transit country.
II. Notes
Pursuant to these regulations, if passengers bound for China cannot obtain from the aforementioned Chinese Embassies a valid health status declaration presenting proof of negative results of the PCR and IgM tests of the COVID-19 48 hours before boarding, will have to readjust their travel plan.
Passengers to China should carefully choose the route of their transit air journey to China, inform themselves in advance about the regulations in force for access to transit countries and the requirements for PCR and IgM tests in countries of transit to avoid untimely effects such as non-authorization of entry, impossibility of performing PCR and IgM tests and non-compliance of the health declaration. In these cases, passengers will be refused to board.
