Do I have to apply for a visa through a travel agency?

No, you don’t. You can apply for a visa through a travel agency or come directly to our office in person or mail your application to the Visa Centre. However, citizen of other countries are required by the Chinese Embassy and Consulate-General to submit the applications person to the Visa Centre.
