Notice on Adjusting Visa for China Application Requirements
According to relevant arrangements, starting from 00:00 on August 24, 2022 (Wednesday), foreigners holding valid APEC business travel cards to engage in business activities in China and foreign students holding valid study residence permits do not need to apply for a new visa to China and could enter China with the above documents.
In accordance with the relevant arrangement, the Embassy of China in Senegal will adjust on visa application requirements for study (X1) to China. The updated application procedures and material requirements are as follows:
1.1 Fill out the visa application form online.
1.2 Valid for more than 6 months of the original passport and the copy of the information page
1.3 Certificate of lawful stay or residence permit in Senegal/Gambia (for citizens of other countries who are in Senegal/Gambia);
1.4 Certificate of COVID-19 vaccination approved for emergency use or marketing by China or WHO (not for young children who cannot be vaccinated due to their country's policy, not for those who cannot be vaccinated due to disease if they can provide relevant diagnostic certificate);

For emergency humanitarian visas other than those mentioned above, such as those for funerals or visits to critically ill relatives in China, the identity documents of the deceased or ill relative (e.g. foreigner's passport, etc.), a death certificate or a certificate of diagnosis, critical illness notice issued by a hospital, proof of kinship, etc. shall be submitted.
