Important Notice on Fingerprints Collection of Visa Application


In accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations, the Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Bern and Zurich will collect 10 fingerprints of all visa applicants on behalf of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Switzerland and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Zurich starting from January 12, 2021.



The following categories of applicants are exempt from the aforementioned requirements:

1. Applicants under the age of 14 or over the age of 70;
2. Applicants are applying for a new Chinese visa and have already been fingerprinted during a Chinese visa application within the last five years at the same Chinese Embassy, Consulate General (same Visa Application Service Center)  using the same passports;
3. Applicants who lost all ten fingers or fingerprints collection is physically impossible.

Please be noted that applicants shall provide their fingerprints in person at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. Applicants who forge fingerprints will be denied entry to China and shall bear all consequences themselves.
