To further facilitate
visa applicants, visa offices of Chinese Embassy and Consulates General in
India will extend the temporary exemption of biometric data (fingerprints)
collection to visa applicants eligible for all short-term single or double
entry (staying for no more than 180 days). The exemption period is from
September 2, 2024 to December 31, 2025.
Besides these who are
temporarily exempted from fingerprint collection, applicants below are also
exempted from biometric data (fingerprints) collection:
1. Applicants under the age of 14 years or above 70 years.
2. Applicants already had fingerprints
collected within the past five years at Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in Mumbai using the same passport.
3. Applicants with all fingers mutilated or uncollectible.
By our policy, applicants
who could be exempted from biometric data (fingerprints) collection could
authorize agents or agencies to submit for them. Applicants whose biometric
data (fingerprints) must be collected have to visit the centre by themselves for live photo and
fingerprint collection.
