Notice on Reminding Applications to Carefully Read Visa for China Application Requirements

1. Starting from 20 June, 2022, the Embassy and Consulate-Generals of China in Australia will make adjustments on visa application requirements to China.

According to relevant arrangements, Brisbane Chinese Visa Application Service Center needs to preliminary review all visa applications in advance by email, and arrange an appointment after the preliminary review is passed. Applications without preliminary review and appointment will not be accepted.

 

2. The updated application procedures and material requirements are as follows:

 

(1) Fill out the Application Form: Fill out the visa application form online, print out and sign the form;

(2) Preliminary review: Scan the visa application form into a PDF format document and send it to bnecenter@visaforchina.org together with all the other relevant materials for preliminary review.

(Currently, the postal service is not acceptable)

 

(3) Submission: When you receive further notice from the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC), please come to the CVASC to submit application materials in person and retain ten fingerprints. To enter the visa center, a negative PCR test certificate within 48 hours and face mask are required (mobile phone text messages can be accepted).

--Exemptions for the fingerprint requirements are granted to:

I. Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;

II. Applicants holding a diplomatic passport or eligible for application of diplomatic, service and courtesy visa of China;

III. Applicants who have applied for Chinese visas with the same passports and have had fingerprints collected and visa approved within 5 years;

IV. Applicants with all the ten fingers physically unable or fingerprints unable to be collected.

--Please be noted that all applicants are requested to go to the Chinese Visa Application Service Centers of relevant consular jurisdiction in person for biometric data collection. Applicants shall bear all the legal consequences including denial of entry for forged fingerprints or using other people's fingerprints for visa application.

 

(4) The application document:

 a. Application form completed online (should be printed-out and signed);

 b. Original passport, copy of the information page and the most recent Chinese Visa page;

 c. 1 photo of the applicant;

 d. Australia VEVO (for citizens of other countries who are in Australia);

 e. Original Chinese passport(for those who had Chinese nationality before and apply for visa for China for the first time);

 f. Certificate of COVID-19 vaccination;

 g. Materials for different visas are as follows:

 For returning students, the original "Visa Application Form for Study in China" (JW201 or JW202), the original Back-to-School approval letters issued by the school are required.

S1-Visa

S2-Visa

Issued to spouse, parents, children, parents of the spouse of the holder of a Z visa or work category residence permit.

 Original certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate, other relationship certificate) showing the relationship of immediate family members between applicants and inviting individual;

 An invitation letter from the inviting individual (a foreigner who stays or resides in China for work);

 A photocopy of the inviting individual's passport and Z-visa or residence permit.

Q1-Visa

Q2-Visa

Issued to family members of Chinese citizens or of foreigners with permanent residence status in China.

Issued to those for funerals or visits to critically ill relatives in China

*"family members" refers to spouses, parents, parents-in-law, children, spouses of children, brothers and sisters, grandparents and grandchildren.

 Certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate, household register, other relationship certificate) showing the relationship of family members between applicant and inviting individual;

 An invitation letter issued by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen with a Chinese permanent residence permit who lives in China;

 Proof of the  inviting individual's Chinese identity (e.g., Chinese ID card, household register), or foreigner's passport and Chinese permanent residence permit;

For emergency humanitarian visas such as those for funerals or visits to critically ill relatives in China, the identity documents of the deceased or ill relative (e.g. foreigner's passport, etc.), a death certificate or a critical illness notice issued by a hospital shall be submitted.

R-Visa

Foreigner of high talent or specialist

Confirmation Letter for High Level Foreign Talents.

*Spouse and minor children apply for S2 visa with copies of proof of relationship (such as marriage certificate, birth certificate, notarial certificate of kinship, etc.)

C-Visa

Crew member

Invitation letter issued by a relevant unit in China;

A letter of guarantee issued by a foreign transport company;

Proof of residency in Queensland.

h. We may ask for extra materials for your application according to your case.

Please note:

1. The Chinese visa is typically valid for three months. Due to the current surge in demand for visa applications, it is advisable that you apply for a visa six weeks before your intended date of entry into China but not earlier than three months. 

2. The visa application form cannot be changed manually. Please check all the information on the form to ensure that everything is correct. Any mistakes or incomplete application materials will result in the failure to submit the application successfully on the day, a reschedule appointment to submit again is needed.

3. Currently, the postal service is not available. The time for collecting the visa is subject to the notice of the staff at the time of application.
