At the request of the Chinese Consulate of Barcelona
in Spain, as of 16, 6, 2021, the Chinese Visa Center in Barcelona (hereinafter
referred to as "Visa Center") will process consular legalization on
behalf of the Chinese Consulate of Barcelona. Legal documents issued by Spanish
authorities, notarized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to be
used in China need to apply for consular legalization. Specific information is
as follows:
1.Schedule
Mondays and Wednesdays (except holidays)
Application Submission and payment: 9:00-15:00 Collection: 9:00-16:00
2.Handling time
- Regular service: The usual handling time of 4
working days.
- Express service 2: The usual processing time of 3
working days.
- Courier service: At the moment, the center offers a
one-way courier service (i.e. the applicant submits the application to the
center and the center returns the legalized documents by courier).
Note: Depending on the applicant's circumstances, the
consular officer of the Chinese Consulate of Barcelona in Spain may request
additional documents or supplementary materials, or require the applicant to
appear at the Chinese Consulate for an interview, which may take longer than
the above-mentioned time.
3. Fees
In addition
to the legalization fee that will be charged on behalf of the Embassy or
Consulate, the Visa Application Center will also charge a service fee. Click

4. Requirements for legalization:
(1).Well-filled Legalization Application Form (one for
each applicant) with original signature.
- If done by a
representative, we ask for the original signature of the applicant himself and
the representative as well as they are confirm the authenticity of the contents
of the application form.
The signature
of the applicant must be true and original (we do not accept photocopied,
scanned, printed or faxed forms with the applicant's signature). We recommend
that you use a courier service to send the form after filling it on line and
printing it due to distance problem.
- If the applicant is a minor, the signature of the
application must be signed by a parent or guardian, submitting along with it a
parentage certificate or notarial act.
- If the legalization is for a Death Certificate, the
application must be signed by an immediate family member, submitting along with
it a certificate of kinship.
(2) Original and complete documents (already legalized
by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation) and a copy.
(3) If the applicant submits the application in person,
he/she must present his/her original identity document (NIE of Spain or
passport if Chinese or third country passport, DNI of Spain if Spanish citizen)
and a photocopy. (Chinese citizens must present a copy of their residence in
Catalonia or a copy of patronage in Catalonia issued within three months from
the application and valid for at least three months).
If you are represented by a representative, you must
present your original identity document and a photocopy (Chinese citizens must
present a copy of their residence in Catalonia or a copy of their patronage in
Catalonia issued within three months of the application and valid for at least
three months), and a photocopy of the applicant's identity document (NIE of
Spain or passport if he/she is a Chinese citizen or a citizen of a third
country, DNI of Spain if he/she is a Spanish citizen).
If the legalization
is of a commercial nature and the applicant is a company or an entity, it is
also necessary to submit the identity card of the representative of the legal
entity and related legal documents to prove its status.)
(4) Other necessary documents requested by the Chinese
Consulate in Barcelona.
5.Notice
- Until ** of **, applications for legalization can
still be submitted to the Chinese Consulate. From *** of *** , applications
will be submitted to the Chinese Visa Center, which will charge a service fee.
- Please make sure you have made an appointment in
advance. The Center will not accept applications without the appointment. To
make an appointment, please visit the "Quick Access" section of the
Center's website under "Legalization".
- Not all applications can apply for express service.
- The Chinese Visa Center is only responsible for the
acceptance of the legalization and is not involved in the legalization approval
process.
