The Visa Center is a commercial institution registered and operated in accordance with Greek laws. The Visa Center is entrusted by the Embassy to provide services such as receiving legalization application, reviewing materials, collecting fees, issuing certificates and consultation. Chinese or foreign citizens living in Greece can submit the documents to be authenticated at the Visa Center either in person or via a representative or agent.
A. Procedures are as follows:
a. Submission of documents to be notarized first by the relevant Greek authorities.
b. Submission of documents notarized by the relevant Greek authorities to be authenticated by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

c. Submission of documents authenticated by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs to be authenticated by the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Greece.
B. Notice:
a. One certificate can only contain one document. One certificate that contains several documents will not be accepted for authentication.
b. Documents issued in China, such as Passport, Registration of Company, etc. will not be accepted for authentication.
c. Applications will not be accepted if the contents of the documents are against Chinese laws, or damaging towards Chinese national or public interests.
d. The Chinese Embassy authenticates only the official signature and seal of the Greek Ministry Foreign Affairs and will not be responsible for the contents of the documents.
e. Documents authenticated by the Greek Ministry Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy should be in their original shape. Applicants should not dismantle original documents (notarized or authenticated) or stitch some other pages to the original documents, and should bear all responsibility for any such action aroused.
f. In principle, documents of a third country should not be authenticated in Greece. If the applicants are indeed in difficulties, our center could accept the documents had been notarized and authenticated by the embassy of a third country in Greece, and also authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece. The Chinese Embassy in Greece does not handle documents sent to third countries for use.
C. Documents to be submitted:
a. One duly completed application form.
b. The original and a copy of the document to be authenticated
c. The original and photocopy of the applicant’s valid ID (Chinese citizens holding passports, Greek citizens holding ID cards) and a copy of the data page (with photo page).
d. If the application is submitted by an agent, a copy of the agent's passport or ID are also required.
e. If you need to request authentication for a commercial document, you must provide the Chamber of Commerce registration specifying the qualification of the signatory or the legal representative, as well as a copy of their ID. If the legal representative is unable to come in person, the agent should bring a proxy letter from the reference company signed by the legal representative.
f. Other documents required by the consular officials.
D. Processing time:
Regular application: 4 working days
Express application: 3 working days
* The consular officer of the embassy may request the applicant to provide other supporting documents or supplementary materials according to the applicant's situation, or request the applicant to go to the embassy for an interview. The processing time may exceed the above-mentioned time.
