Visa Application Process

(I) Preparation of Visa Application Documents

Visa application materials include basic materials and other supporting materials.

(ii) Fill in the Visa Application Form online and upload the application documents.

Please visit the website of China Visa Application Service Centre (hereinafter referred to as "Visa Application Centre") www.visaforchina.cn, find the corresponding Visa Application Centre, register and log in. Follow the instructions to fill in the Visa Application Form, upload the application materials and submit it, and wait for the preliminary examination. All applicants (excluding applicants from Hong Kong, China and Macao, China) are required to use the website to complete the online application form and upload the application materials.

Special Reminder:

1. After submitting your application, the Embassy or Consulate or the Visa Application Centre may require you to provide further documents at any time, so please go to the "Application Progress Enquiry" to keep abreast of the progress of your application. When the status of your application is "Pending Passport Submission", print the first and last pages of the Visa Application Form and sign it.

2. Online video meeting (if required)

Some applicants need to have a video meeting. Follow the instructions on the website to make an appointment and complete the video meeting.

(iii) Submission of Visa Application Documents and Payment of Fee at the Visa Application Centre

1. If the status of the application is "Pending Passport Submission" and a confirmation email has been received, the applicant may submit the visa application documents at the Visa Application Centre with the printed Visa Application Voucher from 9:00 to 14:30 on weekdays.

2. Submit the following documents at the Visa Application Centre:

(1) Original passport;

(2) First and last page of the Visa Application Form with signature;

(3) One photograph (within 6 months, bareheaded, colour, small 2-inch 48mm x 33mm);

(4) Other supporting documents as required.

3. Applicants are required to have their ten fingerprints taken at the Visa Application Centre. The following visa applicants are exempted from fingerprinting:

① Persons under 14 years old or over 70 years old;

② Holders of diplomatic passports or persons eligible for diplomatic, service or courtesy visas;

③ Those who have applied for a visa with the same passport at the Consulate General of China in Almaty within five years and their fingerprints have been kept;

④ Persons who have all ten fingers mutilated or whose fingerprints cannot be retained on all ten fingers;

⑤ Until 31 December 2024 (inclusive), the Consulate General in Almaty will exempt the fingerprints of eligible applicants for one-time or two-time entry visas for business, tourism, family visit, transit and passenger service.

The Embassy solemnly reminds that the applicant must go in person to have his/her fingerprints taken, and if it is found that someone else impersonates the applicant to have his/her fingerprints taken, the person concerned will be refused to enter China and will bear the corresponding consequences.

4. All fees must be paid at the same time of submitting the application materials, including visa fee and visa service fee.

(IV) Receiving Documents

The applicant shall collect the documents at the Visa Application Centre at the appropriate time by presenting the collection slip issued at the time of submitting the application.
